✦ Synopsis
Anromc surfactants m water samples were determmed by a spectrophotometrlc and a spectrofluorlmetrlc method mvohng flow mjectlon coupled with hqmd-hquld extractlon On-tube detection wlthout any phase separators was adopted by usmg a glass capdlaIy flow cell (Inner diameter 0 8 mm) Two kmds of dyes were exammed catloruc dyes, such as Methylene Blue and Ethyl Violet, and neutral dyes, such as Rhodarmne B and 4_(4-chmethylammophenylazoj-2-methylqulnohne
The latter dyes were found to be advantageous and were dissolved m an orgamc phase as an electncally neutral species They combmed with amomc surfactants m the presence of protons, and changed theu colour and/or fluorescence rntenslty By using the second group of reagents, aruomc surfactants could be determmed wltb low background noise
