โœฆ Synopsis


Floppy eyelid syndrome consists of a papillary conjunctivitis and loose upper eyelids that spontaneously evert. A secondary keratitis may result from nocturnal eyelid eversion. The patients are usually obese, middle-aged males. The cause is unknown, but could relate to obesity or collagen abnormalities in the lid tissue. Treatment involves nocturnal eyelid taping or surgical eyelid correction. A case of floppy eyelid syndrome with severe cornea1 scarring resulting in light perception visual acuity is presented.
