✦ Synopsis

The invention relates to a carrier frame seal, where an elastomer seal is moulded onto a metal frame, such as may be used for oil pans and other attachments to an engine crankcase. A series of holes or recesses are provided in the frame outside the sealing zone to reduce weight.
