โœฆ Synopsis

Flatbread โ€œpizza is very popular in restaurants across the US. There is a slight difference between flatbread pizza and regular pizza. Generally flatbread pizza is made on a thinner, crispier crust using lighter toppings and sauce.

Usually, tomato sauce is not used as the sauce. However, there are times when a flatbread pizza does use tomato sauce and other traditional Italian pizza toppings. Flatbread pizza crust may be a pita bread or other thin flat pastry. Sometimes, traditional thin crust pizza is used or canned biscuits or crescents. The crust is not round, however. Instead the crust is rolled out on a rectangular plank, baking sheet or pan. Almost all flatbread pizzas have some sort of rectangular shape instead of the traditional round pizza pie shape.

Toppings commonly used are hummus, fresh vegetables or cream sauces.

This cookbook contains a wide variety of delicious flatbread pizza recipes.
