The transient species formed in the photochernical reactions of CSZ and NH3 were detected through their absorption spectra employing flash photolysis techniques. The mechanism of formation of the SH, NH and NH1 radicals in these reactions was studied. Study of the transient species formed in the pho

✦ Synopsis
The kinetics of the reaction NH2 + NO + N2 f Hz0 were studied, I;sins a conventional flash photolysis system. PI VdUC of k, = (1.1 s 0.2) x 10'0 E mole-' s-1 was obtained at room tempcralure and in the pressure ran_-2-700 ton in the presence of nitrogen. A slight negative tcmpcrature cocfiicient was obscrvcd between 300 and 500 K, equivalent to a ncgtive BCtivation cncrgy of 1.05 i 0.2 kcal mold' .

The rate constants for the reaction of NO3' with sulfur compounds in acetonitrile have been determined by the flash photolysis method. The rate constant for dimethyl sulfone (2.7 x lo4 M-'s-' a t -10°C) is larger than that of the deuterium derivative, indicating that NO; abstracts the hydrogen atom
