Greene, Tweed & Co. has introd u c e d a n e w f l a n g e -s e a l i n g t e c h n o l o g y w h i c h s t o p s virt u a l l y all fugitive e m i s s i o n s a n d f e a t u r e s a d o u b l e -l o b e d sealing ring with a stainless steel retainer. Extensive testing at the Ecole Polytechnique du Montreal proved Leakbuster @ flange seals to be up to 46 000 t i m e s m o r e l e a k -p r o o f t h a n flange g a s k e t s u n d e r p l a n tsimulated lift-off a n d rotation conditions. A fire-safe rating of 1200 ยฐF was obtained.
Conventional gasketing materials are crushed during ins t a l l a t i o n a n d h a v e l i t t l e r e c o v e r y to a c c o m m o d a t e flange m o v e m e n t . Conversely, the Leakbuster @ flange seal's retainer ring provides a comp r e s s i o n stop t h a t p r e v e n t s over-tightening of the sealing ring and eliminates s u b s e q u e n t re-tightening. The seal is easily installed in any flange arrangem e n t a n d is a v a i l a b l e w i t h sealing rings of Chemraz ยฎ CPI, EPDM, Fluoraz ยฎ or Viton*.
