โœฆ Synopsis

A general expression is derived relating an arbitrary output feedback controller to the resulting closed-loop characteristic polynomial in terms of suitably defined zero polynomials of the system. This expression is then used to characterize the fixed modes of a multivariable system with respect to controllers of any desired structure.

Generalized predictive control (GPC) and dynamic performance predictive control (DPC) algorithms are introduced for industrial applications. Constraints on plant input rate, plant absolute input and plant absolute output can be implemented and are demonstrated on an application of these algorithms.

The fundamentals of active vibration control of plates are investigated theoretically and experimentally, using active constrained layer damping (ACLD) treatments. Particular emphasis is placed on controlling of the "rst two bending modes of vibration of plates which are treated fully with ACLD trea

A new magnetic gear system with an actuator made by an electromagnet is proposed. Vibration due to the system parameter variations or external disturbance is absorbed by changing the magnetic fluxes in this electromagnet, and the controller is designed by variable structure system theory. Theoretica
