✦ Synopsis

A 800 m3/day R.O. seawater desalination test plant has been running since Sept. 1979 at Chigasaki. Performance results of both spiral wound modules, PEC-1000, and hollow fiber modules, Hollosep, for recent5 years are summarized. From data of flux and salt rejection water (A) and salt (B) permeabilities were calculated by using tranport equations, whereby effect of concentration polarization was eliminated. The time change of relation between A and B gives interesting insight on the behavior of R.O. membranes.
