,\ detector setup is presented which has been installed in the Experimental Storage (ESR) Ring at GSI (Darmstadt) for investigations of elastic and inelastic proton scattering on stored ion beams. Beams of various stable isotopes as well as -for the first time secondary "~t~Ni mlclei provided by the Fragment Separator (FRS) have been accumulated and cooled in the ESR. The detector system includes a ultra-high vacuum compatible silicon detector for beam monitoring and a ~E -E silicon/CsI detector telescope for particle identification up to a proton energy of 56 MeV. Results from luminosity measurements of S~SKr. 124Xe, and 5<SSNi projectiles on various light targets (H2, 1)2, CH4, N~ ,gas jets) are reported.
