We have studied the equilibrium vortex state of various layered superconductors by torque magnetometry. From the angle dependence of the torque the anisotropy of the magnetic penetration depth y = L\_L -/ LII is determined. In T12Ca2Ba2Cu3010 and Bi2Sr2CaCthO 8 we find extreme values up to y = 900.

We calculate the tilt modulus (744 and make collective pinning estimates for a vortex lattice in magnetically coupled superconducting layers. The tilt modulus has unusual nonlocal structure which leads to peculiar pinning behavior. Namely, under the certain conditions for the pinning strength and th
