β¦ Synopsis
Product Description
Blayne Cooper and T. Novan continue to chronicle the lives of Lauren Strayer and Devlyn Marlowe in First Lady, the eagerly-awaited sequel to their thirteen-month best seller, Madam President.
Planning a wedding is never easy. However, most brides donβt face the challenges that Lauren Strayer does. Her beloved comes with a ready-made family, something the biographer never imagined for herself. In addition, Laurenβs estranged father thoroughly disapproves of her future mate, who just happens to be the nationβs first female president.
Lauren tackles the perils and pleasures of parenting and the tension between her private nature and her new, very public role. At the same time, Dev, a dedicated public servant, struggles to find the balance between managing the nationβs interests, her family, her fears, and her stress, while continuing the development of her relationship with Lauren. The result is an action-packed, amusing and tender tale of the sort that fans of Cooper & Novan have come to love and expect.
About the Author
Blayne Cooper
Blayne Cooper is the author or co-author of a variety of fiction ranging from mystery/romance to outrageous parody. While she enjoys the challenge of working in multiple genres, it's writing about the humor found in everyday life that gives her the most pleasure.
The University of Oklahoma College of Law grad loves travel, reading, and spending long, sleepless nights crouched over her computer in search of the perfect words that will make people laugh or weep uncontrollably. She's still looking, but having a great time on the journey.
A rolling stone at heart, Blayne currently resides in the Midwest with her loving spouse, two young children, and cairn terrier.
T. Novan
For years, Theran Novan wrote for her own amusement. A true child of the seventies, she often wrote scripts for television shows, reaching back to classics like "Get Smart" and other comedies. The television and the stories in her head were often her only companions, as she was diagnosed with cancer at the age of eleven, and spent much of her childhood and teens in therapy. Adulthood and remission coincided, and TN, as her friends call her, pursued two careers β first managing major conventions and events in the Columbus Ohio area and then going back to school to become a police officer. Unfortunately, her cancer re-emerged and one day, while undergoing treatment, her friends brought her a computer. At the same time, she became addicted to a new television show β Xena, Warrior Princess. The whole world of fan fiction opened up, and a supportive global community came to recognize her as a real talent.
TN quickly found her own voice, writing original stories and novels. Her quality work, realistic characters, and sense of humor all combine to create quirky, charming, compelling stories. Her works have made both the Open Book and the Lambda Literary Society bestseller lists.
