✦ Synopsis
Complex response fluctuations represent a major complication of chronic levodopa therapy in patients with Parkinson's disease. Of those, the "wearing off' and "on-off'' phenomena are more widely recognized (1). However, two other subtypes of motor fluctuations, i.e., "delayed-on'' (increased latency from levodopa dose intake to start-up of clinical benefit) and "episodic unresponsiveness" (failure of a dose to turn patient on) are quite common and may significantly contribute to prolongation of daily "off' phases and to patients' functional disability (2,3). Although the "wearing off' and "on-off'

## Abstract A dose‐ranging study of selegiline was performed in patients with Parkinson's disease to determine the minimal dosage of the drug able to inhibit ≥95% of platelet monoamine oxidase (MAO) activity. Different doses of selegiline (5 or 10 mg daily, 10 or 20 mg weekly) were studied in four
roradiological features beyond the typical cerebellar peduncle hyperintensities that were found minimal in this instance. FXTAS is expected to be less severe in females because of the presence of two X chromosomes, subject to random inactivation. It has been suggested that expression of the disease
We assessed the effect of 3-month treatment of sertraline (50 mg) or low-dose amitriptyline (25 mg) on depression and quality of life in 31 patients with Parkinson's disease in a prospective single-blind randomized study. Both drugs significantly reduced the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS-17
## Abstract This community‐based study of Parkinson's disease (PD) investigated age at death and cause of death in a cohort of 170 previously studied patients. The current study is a 9‐year follow‐up, and the results are compared to 510 sex‐ and age‐matched controls from the same area. A total of 1
## Abstract We investigated the short‐term effects of a single dose of levodopa (L‐dopa) on micturition function in PD patients with wearing‐off phenomenon. Eighteen PD patients who had median Hoehn and Yahr scores of 5 during the __off__ phase and 3 during the __on__ phase were recruited. We carri
