โฆ Synopsis
Finite-time thermodynamic analysis of an air-standard internal-combustion Dual cycle is performed in this paper. The relation between net work output and e$ciency of the cycle is derived. The maximum net work output and the corresponding e$ciency limit of the cycle with heat transfer considerations are also found. Detailed numerical examples are given. The results obtained herein provide a guidance to the performance evaluation and improvement for practical internal combustion engines.

Electrochemical processes may be used to form thermodynamic cycles in a variety of manners. In this paper, an electrochemical cell and fuel cell are combined to form a refrigeration cycle. Water is chosen as an example for the analysis in order to show ideal performance characteristics of such a cyc
The specific output power of a shipboard nuclear propulsion system is analyzed. The plant consists of a Rankine cycle coupled to coolant from a nuclear reactor (heat source) and ocean water (heat sink) by heat transfer. The specific power is optimized by using thermodynamic software called CyclePad
It is proven that a solar absorption heat transformer affected by the irreversibility of finite-rate heat transfer may be modelled as an equivalent combined system consisting of a solar collector and an endoreversible absorption heat transformer, the latter being further treated as a combined cycle
