The er.er_p dependence, E,.m_ < 0.2 eV, of the inelastic totJ cross sections for the 'PI/2 * 'Pg/-fine structure trmsition of the lowest excited states of the alkali atoms are alcukted for the following systems: Na, K, Rb + He, Nz, Ar and Cs i-He. EncourqinS agreement between theory +nd experiment is obtair?ed.
