✦ Synopsis

Two methods have been devised which allow the figure of merit of a thermo-electric module and the three individual parameters which constitute it, to be determined. The first method, which is more extensive, allows the temperature variation of the parameters to be determined whilst the second method is a short cut. Agreement between the two methods is within 6 per cent error. The lattice thermal conductivity of a thermoelectric material can be significantly reduced at ordinary temperatures by boundary scattering but the beneficial effect on the figure of merit can sometimes be more than offset by boundary scattering of the charge carriers. Here we extend the previous the

The pressure losses in the currently available prostheses are too high. We believe ail excellent way to focus designers' att, ention upon this fact is to rank the various designs according to their hydraulic efficiency. The proposal of this paper is for pressure drop vs. velocity data (pulsatile flow

The subject of analytical figures of merit for tensorial calibration is critically reviewed. Tensorial calibration derives its name from tensor algebra, which provides a classification of calibration methods depending on the complexity of the data obtained for one chemical sample. Expressions for ne
