✦ Synopsis
Electromagnetic fields in general rotationally uniaxial media are studied. Six components of the fields are sol¨ed using the method of separation of ¨ariables. By grouping the proper terms, the electromagnetic fields are finally expressed in a ¨ery compact form by introducing the modified spherical ¨ector wa¨e functions. The dyadic Green's function in an infinite uniaxial medium is subsequently deri¨ed and expanded in terms of the same ¨ector wa¨e functions. It is shown that the expressions of both the fields and the dyadic Green's function are reducible to those of simpler cases.
