โœฆ Synopsis


The effect of large electric fields on the photoconductivity spectra of liquid xenon is reported. The photoconductivity threshold shifts to lower photon energies with increasing applied electric field. From its magnitude and functional dependence, it is concluded that the shift is due to the field ionization of high-n Wannier excitons.
