β¦ Synopsis
present work does not involve the nonlinear effect due to the low operation power and slow optical pulse. However, it is expected that some novel performances would result if the nonlinear effects are incorporated. For the consideration of the nonlinear case, the high-loss integrated optic circuit may be substituted by the discrete fiber-optic components. Finally, we want to say that this fiber laser is expected to have an application in the optical signal process, and in optical communications. Especially, it can be used as a fiber rotation sensor because of the incorporation of the Sagnac loop (the peak of the output pulse shifts if the system is rotated). Further work regarding these applications is now going on.
