This is volume 29 in the highly regarded Contemporary Neurology Series. Fred Plum, who is also the editor of the series, chose a wide range of topics for the subject matter of the first 28 volumes of his series, and volume 29 is no exception. Six diverse reviews are presented, including the neurological features of AIDS and immunodeficiency virus infection, the postpolio syndrome, mitochondrial disorders of muscle and brain, drugs for the treatment of anxiety, nervous system tuberculosis, and the functions of the frontal lobes. The reviews are thorough, the authors are well chosen, and all of the topics are of strong current interest.
