β¦ Synopsis
On behalf of Lynn P. Rehm, PhD, ABPP's students and colleagues, it is with pleasure that we are co-editing this Festschrift in his honor. In March 2009, we held a 2-day symposium at the University of Houston entitled ''The Etiology, Assessment, and Treatment of Depression in Women and Girls'' to celebrate Dr. Rehm's contributions to research, academia, and the profession. The symposium and this special series are our way of expressing our gratitude to Dr. Rehm for his effective and dedicated mentoring of countless students within the scientist-practitioner model, his dedicated service to professional psychology at the local, national, and international level, and, of course, his groundbreaking scholarly contributions related to the assessment and treatment of mood disorders in diverse populations. Dr. Rehm, a leading depression researcher for close to 40 years, is retiring from the University of Houston this year and, thus, we wanted to say thank you to him.
