## Abstract A method is described for the determination of nitrofurazone in mixed poultry feeds. Separation from interfering material is effected chromatographically, followed by absorptiometric measurement of the nitrofurazone. Recovery of known amounts of nitrofurazone is from 97 to 102%.
No nitrosamines could be detected above a level of 1 pg kg-l in five samples of indirectly dried skim-milk powders, 20 samples of directly-fired skim-milk powders and 10 samples of directly-fired butter-milk powders, selected at random from eight processing plants in New Zealand over a period of 8 m
