Abstract

FeCl~3~‐ and GaCl~3~‐catalyzed dehydrative coupling reactions of chromone‐derived Morita‐Baylis‐Hillman (MBH) alcohols with terminal alkynes were developed. The reactions provided exclusively α‐regioselective and acetylene‐substituted products in good yields.
