✦ Synopsis
Heat gradients or pulses are generated in the center of ceramic and metallic powdered samples and their transient thermal emission is collected using a radiometer working around 3.3 GHz. The ability of contact-less microwave radiometry to detect inverse temperature profile is shown for SiC or metal-ceramic composite powders (Al/SiC).
