✦ Synopsis

A "nite element implementation of the uni"ed elastic}viscoplastic theory of Bodner for the analysis of metal matrix composites is presented in this paper. An original model of circular "bres embedded in a square array of matrix material has been chosen for the present investigation. The results of the present analysis for two Aluminium matrix composites have been compared with the results of Aboudi's continuum theory and the Halpin}Tsai equations.
