✦ Synopsis

The ultimate strength and endurance limit for a spherical container under internal pressure have been analytically determined. In addition, the number of cycles that may cause fracture of the container due to fatigue is found as a function of the peak of the cyclic pressure, the inner and the outer radii of the container. The number of cycles depends also on some parameters that characterize the material of the container.
