โฆ Synopsis
A stochastic model describing fatigue crack growth under random overload peaks is presented. A Poisson flow of overloads superimposed on a base-line constant-amplitude cyclic load is considered. Under the above assumptions the total retardation time is presented as a stochastic process governed by the intensity of overloads. Expressions estimating lifetime under prescribed reliability level are derived.
