SUMMARY: Hypoxaemia and angiotensin II both cause pulmonary vasoconstriction and co-exist as pathophysiological pulmonary pressor stimuli in patients with cor pulmonale. Evidence from animal studies, however, suggests that angiotensin II may modulate the hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstrictor response. W
