✦ Synopsis
A new glass-forming region has been identified in the fast-ion-conducting Li20-GeO2-Nb205 system. The temperature and composition dependence of the conductivity are presented. High ionic conductivity values of the order of o = 8 x 10 -5 f~-t cm-1 at 200 °C have been measured for the composition 40Li20-40GeO2-20Nb205. Conductivity enhancement observed in this ternary system has been discussed with reference to structural details. At lower Li.,O concentrations, the increase in conductivity with the addition of Nb205 is attributed to high Li ÷ ion mobility. Complex modulus analysis has been carried out to determine the conductivity relaxation time and decoupling index.
