โœฆ Synopsis

A fast current generator, capable of sending unipolar pulses of up to 100 A into a superconductive sample, is described here. It is essentially a fast power amplifier, the gain of which is controlled by negative feedback. The shape of the output pulse thus accurately follows the input reference waveform delivered by a computer controlled arbitrary function generator. For square pulses, rise times of a few microseconds and top flatness and stability better than 1% have been achieved under actual operating conditions.
