In order to give a theoretical interpretation of the results of the rapid coagulation measured in the case of a haematite suspension, we considered the influence of close hydrodynamic and van der Waals interactions on the basis of a model in which the surfaces of interacting particles have areas with variable curvature radii. The formula which we obtained for the velocity constant of coagulation merges in the case of constant curvature with the formula given by Derjaguin and Muller, Dokl.
