β¦ Synopsis
Positive ion fast atom bombardment mass spectra of the opioid pentapeptides leucine enkephalin (1) (H-Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Leu-OH or YGGFL), methionine enkephalin (2) (H-Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Met-OH or YGGFM) and leucine enkephalin-2H, (3) (H-Tyr-fCly-2H,-Gly-Phe-Leu-OH or YGGFL-'H,) have been recorded in glycerol. The following experiments have been carried out: (i) dimer studies [ZM + 11'; (ii) decompositions of dimers: daughter ions from (YGGFL), , (YGGFL-YGGFL-2H2) and (YGGFL-2H2), as well as (YGGFM-YGGFL) and (YGGFM), dimers; (Β‘U) solvation site and pyridine collision-activated dissociation studies for dimer ions; (iv) mechanism of formation of [(ZM + 1) -Gly,]+ ions.

Negative-ion low-temperature fast-atom bombardment mass spectrometry (LT-FAB-MS) is applied to monomeric and dimeric [60]fullerene compounds. LT-FAB mass spectra of C 60 , C 60 O 1-3 , C 119 , C 120 , C 120 O, C 120 O 2 (B) and C 120 OS exhibit clear molecular ion peaks and a moderate level of fragm
