✦ Synopsis
Novel coordination compounds of the type Fe(LC,,)&, Fe(LC,s)sCla, Cu(LC,,)CI, and Cu(LC,s)Cla (where LCia and LCis denote 4,4'-didodecyloxy-2,2'-bipyridine and 4,4'-dioctadecyloxy-2,2'bipyridine, respectively) have been synthesized and characterized by means of their far i.r. spectra. On the basis of 63Cu-65Cu and s4Fes6Fe isotope substitutions the assignments of bands due to metal-ligand vibrations have been made. A pseudooctahedral (0s) structure has been proposed for both iron(H) comnlexes, whereas a polymeric octahedral, chloride bridged structure (Ci) seems most favorable for both cop&II) complexes. _ _
