β¦ Synopsis
The far infrared spectra of a series of unsubstituted monophthalocyanine (Pc) and di-Pc derivatives and some of the corresponding tetra-tert-butyl substituted Pc molecules are reported. The infrared data were recorded between 100 and 450 cm-m. The vibrational assignment of metal-nitrogen stretching frequencies is discussed. The far infrared data for tert-butyl Pc derivatives and a group of C4,, Pc complexes are presented here for the first time.

Crystalline benzoic acid has been studied by far-infrared spectroscopy in the spectral region of 20-230 cm-' with a view to a determination and an assignment of the pure lattice and the intermonomer vibrations. An anomalous behaviour, similar to the one found earlier in the mid-IR, is observed for t
