✦ Synopsis


A study of properties of an oriented YBa2Cu307-6 thin film on an MgO single crystal substrate prepared by a sputtering technique is reported. We have performed both reflection and transmission experiments. We show that transmission experiments are well suitable to determine the product ao(T)d where ao is the d.c. conductivity, T the temperature and d the film thickness and find ao ,~ T -1. Our results indicate that the properties of the film can be described by the same optical constants as for epitaxial YBa2Cu307_$ films.
