Raman and far-infrared spectra of the lattice vibrations of solid methanol in the ordered a-phase at 20 K are presented and discussed in terms of the available crystallographic data. Spectra of the deuterated species, CH,OD and CD,OD, have also been recorded to facilitate the assignment of observed

β¦ Synopsis
Far-infrared spectra of crystalline C& and C&, have been recorded in the temperature range 15-150Β°K. Six translational lattice modes are observed for each isotopic species. The frequencies were calculated using a Lennard-Jones 'center-tosenter' potential involving one parameter only. Good agreement with experiment was obtained for the six bands.

Infrared reflectivity spectra of CdIn,Se, single crystals are measured at room temperature in the wavenumber range from 180 to 4000 cm-' for the polarization directions E I c and E 11 [112]. The spectra reveal two vibrational modes with nearly the same frequencies for both polarization directions. T
