β¦ Synopsis
The falsification of kinetic parameters due to intrapellet concentration and temperature profiles is analyzed for porous catalyst pellets.
A quasilinearization technique is used in order to solve numerically the non-isothermal effectiveness factor.
Strong falsifications of the activation energy are predicted for exothermal reactions in the neighbourhood of the multiple solutions region.
In the asymptotic region of the effectiveness factor values above or below 0.5 are obtained for the ratio between the apparent and "true" activation energy for endo and exothermal reactions, respectively. In the same region values of the apparent reaction order are obtained as a function of the kinetic reaction order and different thermal conditions.
