✦ Synopsis
Turkey has witnessed remarkable sociocultural changes. Arguably, the most significant of these is the increased visibility and acceptability of observant Muslims who display visible clues to their religious identities, such as men with well-trimmed and thin moustaches, and veiled women, in various public spaces, particularly in ‘secular’ neighbourhoods and commercial areas such as Nişantaşı and İstinye Park mall.
