Stability of modified alumina with Fe2O3
✍ M. Siddique; M. Riaz 📂 Article 📅 2010 🏛 Elsevier Science 🌐 English ⚖ 302 KB

Transmission M össbauer spectroscopy has been used to study the temperature effect on modified alumina with Fe 2 O 3 , used for the separation of hydrocarbons like alkanes and alkenes. The phases were determined qualitatively and quantitatively formed at each temperature ranging from 400 to 1200 1C.

Tribological behavior of select MAX phas

The layered M n+1 AC n ternary carbides -MAX phases -Ta 2 AlC, Ti 2 AlC, Cr 2 AlC and Ti 3 SiC 2 were tested under dry sliding conditions against alumina at 550 • C and 3 N load (for a stress of ≈0.08 MPa) using a pin-on-disk tribometer. Ta 2 AlC and Ti 2 AlC exhibited low specific wear rates, SWRs,
