Hyder Consulting worked closely with Hidrostal to design the storm element of the station, where the two pumps with 2-speed geared EX proof motors provide an output of 670 1/s each. The pumps are installed on the Prerostal system, which is designed to provide variable output from a fixed speed pump. This particular system was chosen to reduce the stored volume required at pump start up and thus reduces the size of the structure.
