Various factors influencing the protein binding of vancomycin were examined using equilibrium dialysis method. Four per cent human serum albumin (HSA) and/or 0-08 per cent alpha-I-acid glycoprotein (AAG), dissolved in isotonic phosphate buffer, were dialyzed against isotonic phosphate buffer of pH 7

β¦ Synopsis
Recent work has shown that auxins such as ,%indolyl acetic acid in sufficient quantity are toxic to plant life and therefore from this point of view it is reasonable that there should be a mechanism within the soil, such as the one just postulated, which would prevent the proportion of natural auxins in thc soil from assuming toxic concentrations.
Figures were shown earlier in this paper showing the range for what we at the present time regard as the " normal auxin range " but so far no definite data are available to show if the maximum and minimum values in this range have any different effect on plant growth.
It will be necessary to determine the auxin content of a good many more soils before the auxin balance with its normal awin content range can be said to be definitely established, but neverthclcss the results so far obtained definitely point to its existence.
