Abstract

Urea derivatives were readily synthesized in good yields under quite mild conditions, i.e., at ambient pressure and room temperature by sulfurโ€assisted carbonylation of primary amines with carbon monoxide followed by oxidation of the resulting ammonium thiocarbamates with molecular oxygen.
