Treatment of aliphatic carbonyl compounds with trimethyisilyl chloride with Mg turning for Grignard reaction without any pre-treatmem in N,N-dimethylformamide at room temperature brought about highly facile, effective and stereoselective coupling to give the corresponding silyl enol ethers in good yields.
