Abstract
A simple threeβstep preparation of magnetic nanoparticleβsupported (diacetoxyiodo)benzene starting from 4βiodobenzoic acid is described. The nanoparticle reagent was obtained with good loading levels and has been successfully used for efficient oxidation of a wide range of alcohols. The supported reagent demonstrated comparable activity with that of its homogeneous counterpart (diacetoxyiodo)benzene and could be simply recycled with the assistance of an external magnet.
