✦ Synopsis

The diagnostic sensitivity of F-wave duration (F dur ) in diabetic polyneuropathy was analyzed. Some patients had abnormal F dur values with normal minimum F latencies (F min ). The incidence of abnormality for tibial and peroneal F dur was somewhat more common than for F min in cases of suspected mild or early phase polyneuropathy. F dur may provide additional diagnostic information in certain cases, particularly those in which there is mild polyneuropathy.
