✦ Synopsis

Peroxidase is exuded from roots of Festuca rubra under axenic conditions. No phenolase was detected. Peroxidase can use phenolic acids, probably differentially, as hydrogen donors for the H20 2 substrate and could thus have an effect on the qualitative and quantitative determinations of phenolic acids also exuded by plants.
