A new extraction-spectrophotometric method for the determination of cadmium, basedon the formation of the complex Cd(I1): 2-(5'-ethyl-l',3',4'-thiadiazolyl--2'-azo)-4-rnethoxyphenol into benzene is developed ( E = 37,800 l.mol-1.cm-l at 6 1 0 nm).
