R denotes a compact (Hausdorff) topological ring. The authors extend to ring topologies on R which are totally bounded or even pseudocompact; a principal tool is the Bohr compactification of a topological ring. They show inter alia: If the Jacobson radical J R of R satisfies w R/J R > Ο then there i
Basic results on extended fuzzy topologies are presented which are obtained in applying the theory of fuzzy stacks. In particular, the category EFTOP of extended-fuzzy topological spaces and several of its bire ective and bicore ective subcategories are studied.
The distinction between a finite system-however large-and an extended one is emphasized. The implications of the very different types of boundary conditions imposed on wave functions for such systems are discussed as well as the role of the long-range Coulomb potential in the two types of systems.
