✦ Synopsis
The eel populations in two highly productive lakes in southernmost Sweden, Lake Voiiibsjon and Lake Ringsjon, were studied. The ecosystems of both lakes are reguleted by cyprinids, mainly roach and bream, respectively. Ruffe is a dominant species in Lake Vombsjon, but is missing in Lake Ringsjon. Eel constitutes approximately
