โฆ Synopsis
The paper demonstrates that the standard technique for explicitly integrating the isoparametric degeneratecontinuum arch element destroys the strain-free rigid-body rotation. It is also shown that this difficulty can be overcome with the aid of Irons's 'isoparametric shell theory'. Although the developments involve an arch, they are also related to isoparametric shells.
