✦ Synopsis

The optical densities of states for four phthalocyanines,. chlorinated phtNocyanine, and protoporphyrin have been determined using photoemission and optical experiments. Three peaks occur in the opticaL density of occupied states. These are found to be characteristic of the conjugated inner ring structure of these molecules, and are in relatively good agreement with free electron MO calculations.
